Dr. Reyes survives Wolfsbane's attack, and falls back to a secure bunker where she requests backup from the Essex Corporation (ES).

ES has already seen the video footage and dispatched various assets to shutdown the entire group of New Mutants. While an expensive investment, their analysis shows the situation is too far gone to be saved.

Each agent has full prep and info on the teenagers. Danielle Moonstar would be their first threat to eliminate.

The teens hear an inbound helicopter and assume whoever has landed is there to kill them. They look at the security monitor and see the incoming agent - the security system immediately recognizes the agent and lists their profile/abilities on-screen for the teens to analyze.
