Sasuke does not have amaterasu, yet. Kimimaro also isn't stupid enough to fall for eye-based genjtsu and his Taijutsu is flawless.
If this is a healthy Kimimaro, he would walk all over Sasuke.
But I give this to Kimimaro 6 out of 10 fights.
Sasuke's only hope of winning is using his lightning infused blade against Kimimaro's bones. That's a very bad choice as any Taijutsu combat would be a bad idea against Kimimaro.
Kimimaro, sick as ****, still had a 4.5 in stamina. WTF? His speed was till a 4 or something. Double wtf? This guy must have been a beast before he became ill. It should be no wonder that Oro wanted him as his vessel (it even sounds homo...).
Sasuke did have kirin, and his genjutsu is something of an advantage (avoiding a glance is hard, and in any case makes it so the opponent has to pay a bit less attention to what you're doing).
Personally I think it's a close fight, with a large part of the result dependent on how effective his lightning blades are against bone.
Yes. He looked like he was going to use it against Naruto before Orochimaru stopped him, remember? Same hand-gesture he used later when he did use it against Itachi.
No indication. Still, I wouldn't think it'd act super differently.
The hand gesture doesn't really matter, as Sasuke can only use kirin under very specific conditions. He needs the massive heat and static electricity aura givien off by Amaterasu and his fire dragon techniques. So in that scene with Naruto and Sakura, there's no way he could have used kirin anyway.

Note, that's how he can do it despite being very low on chakra.
With Naruto and the gang, he was completely fresh. He may be able to manage anyway (perhaps not quite as powerful, but still, he has a lot of chakra to put into an attack).
Do you have any substantiation to support that idea? If he could use kirin all willy nilly as long as he's got the chakra for it, that would have been extremely handy when fighting a certain flying enemy, Deidera, who came quite close multiple times to killing Sasuke throughout their fight.

He used a hand gesture only associated with Kirin and Orochimaru called it a that jutsu.
Only big stuff gets called that jutsu.
Keep in mind I'm not saying it's easy or anything. Just that at a full tank he can use it.
If he used it against Deidara and missed, or got bombed mid-jutsu (Deidara did keep the pressure on him, while Team 7 was low on ranged attacks and Sasuke had Oro with him for protection), he'd be screwed.
If it was the fire that did that, I see no reason he couldn't use that to hurt Kimmimaro badly. Worse come to worse, you can set fire to the area and Kirin. And of course there is genjutsu.
From the beginning of part 2 though I assumed he was limiting it to the showing of Sasuke vs New Team Kakashi. If we get to use showings after that then yeah Sasuke should take it.
He was suggested to be much stronger than 3-tailed Naruto.
Anyway, Sasuke wins this. Massive Bone-field is the only thing that Kimimaro could win with IMO.

Aren't we talking about the same Kimimaro that had trouble with Lee? I think Sasuke would probably pull out the W with some form of weak genjutsu/chidori strike. Not to mention fireballs and his winged beast form that amps his skills considerably.
