A minor moves into an apartment paid by a legal guardian. The legal guardian has also signed the lease to this apartment.
The legal guardian is 3-5 hours away, living in the same state but a different city, and visits a couple days a month.
IF the minor were to have charges pressed against him/her, or if something, anything, were to happen involving authorities/medical personal - would the legal guardian be at fault in any way?
depends on what the incident was...if it was something entirely separate from the apartment then i'm sure the minor could be charged with whatever it is dependant on US law regarding ages of legal responsibility
if it was to do with the apartment then the guardian would be responsible, at least in part, for anything relating to the apartment because it was leased in their name
regardless the guardian would be culpable of neglect and abandonment laws separate from any incident if there was no transfer of duty of care as there is say as boarding schools or camps
