I attended a meeting about a year ago at the New York City GLBT Center in Manhatten, and I had a discussion with a group of gay/bi teens. One of the topics was who we would vote for, and much to my surprise, I was the only one who was willing to vote for Hilary out of my group session.
The other guys were like "Obama is such a cutie" etc. typical gay lingo, and I was like "wtf...no he's not", and so on.
And they were pretty much just going to vote for him because they think he is handsome. And no, they were not all black or latino, most of my group were white kids...so i wondored, what was it about him that made him SO damn appealing to my gay butt buddies ?
Obama isn't exactly against gay marriage, but neither is Hilary...
They are pretty close on many issues, and when I asked what reasons they support Obama, they just said "omg he would make such a good president, and hes so cute" etc.
So...I wondor. Why is that ? Any gay homos here have a similar opinion to what my discussion group spoke about ? Because I wasn't exactly seeing eye to eye on this issue.
And even if i DID think Obama was handsome, that's not reason enough for me to vote for him.
So far most of the Gay/Bisexual men I have spoken to support Obama, a few are voting for Hilary like me.
imo Obama just has the look of a very liberal person, whereas Hillary seems to be a wrinkly, uptight hoebag. Obama just looks more like a liberal party guy imo. I can't speak for gays, but I'd imagine that they'd probably find that to be a positive thing, if they don't care about his policy.
I dont doubt he's a genuine man, but his looks dont determine his ability as a leader. Hilary Clinton already has been in the white house, cleaning up Bill
s messes for 8 years...she knows what it takes.
In my experience, it's at least a 60/40 split in Hilldog's favor. Not a single person that fits the crtieria for your thread has mentioned Obama's looks as a means to justify their support. (Nor can I hear a room full of gay teenagers calling him attractive...much less anyone else over the age of 30, for that matter) In fact, the attractiveness of neither Obama nor Clinton has been mentioned by a single person as a motivating factor in their support for either in any of the conversations I've had.
Most of my homosexual friends have started sending out anti-Obama emails, as a matter of fact. So, I think most homosexuals support Clinton...at least in my experience.
That's actually interesting...u have to remember that at the GLBT center, most of the guys were around my age (21), and I guess that's just how they think. Who knows.
Most of the people I know are voting for Hilary, like my freinds, but just at this particular discussion most of the guys were rooting for Obama....again this was like last year, thier opinions could have changed.
I do find Hilary attractive lolol...she was probly hott when she was younger. Obama not so much.
It's no worse though then when my history teacher asks "So who would you vote for?" And the whole class yells "Obama!", then when the teacher asks what we think of his policies we're like "uh... what?"
They are too young to vote, but they favor Obama cuz he's black..dead serious, my brothers have this empathy for black people, and they automatically like Obama cuz he's Black lol.
They dont even know what he stands for, and they dislike Hilary cuz she's a white woman...ughhh....so frustrating, we never agree on ne thing
Devil King, make a Dlist.com account, and check out the Obama Support Group (if u have time, i assume u do). Maddd guysss are voting for him (all gay, its dlist duhh)
I'm on the group 2, but ONLY cuz i had repeating invitations to join
No, but my point is that it's just the cool guy thing to do really. If you don't care about either candidates policy then vote on whoever is the cooler guy or more popular or dresses better. I don't agree with that, but I'm just saying that that's the way most people's mind works.
I can assure that you at least 60% of the black people in the ghetto who will vote for Obama can't even spell "policy".
