Mayweather: Whites needed a fight sport, so they invented MMA

http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/blog/ca...?urn=mma,177541

The showdown is set for September 19th. The self-annointed
pay-per-view king of boxing Floyd Mayweather is going to head-to-head against UFC 103 in Dallas. Who wins the battle? Mayweather or a UFC card without a UFC championship fight on it?

Mayweather's been a lot more anti-MMA recently. Is there a reason behind it? He talks with CBSSports here saying MMA is for animals and it was created because whites can't excel in boxing (1:47 mark)

Yeah. Fo sure whitey dont punch fer shit ferdizzle. Word!

Wow! Very good match!

Let's see if MMA is truly the most effective combat style.

If the MMA fighter loses, it will prove that ANY combat style is effective if you excel in it.

Hahahahaa, the clown. Within ten years, MMA is going to top boxing.

I love boxing, but the politics has ruined it, fighters dodging fights, or purposely put up against people way below them so they can excel etc.

Yeah but all those same factors'll soon start eating away at MMA, (if it hasnt already) as soon as cash starts dictating things.

For sure, let MMA fighters start making 20m a fight and bouts bringing in 250m at the gate, it will be the same Don King bullshit all over.

They've already started to address that with the new super-six format.

The 1st to do it are going to be Carl Froch, Andre Dirrell, Andre Ward, Jermaine Taylor, Arthur Abraham and Mikkel Kessler.

They all fight 3 times on a points system. The top 2 going against each other for the title.

He's an incredible boxer, but a complete fool.

MMA (Pankration combat) has been around in the Ancient Greek times. The sport is just as old or even older than Boxing.

Dana White and the Fertitas have said they are trying to prevent that. Hope they can do it.

That's why they won't co-promote with other companies, and are trying to monopolize.

Good to hear, I've been out of touch with boxing for a few years now.

An pro boxer shouldn't stand a chance even against an amature MMA fighter.

But, we'll see.

One punch can end the fight. A boxer is capable of defeating a MMA fighter and vice versa.

Kicks and grappling will play a significant factor in the fight.

Never watched MMA, didnīt even know what it was had to google it.

Boxing is becoming less attractive , mainly due to the quality of boxers especially in the heavyweight division.

Indeed.

A person without much fighting experience could knock out a pro with a lucky shot.

BUt I'm not talking about exceptions. I'm talking about the norm.

Ray mercer is like 150 years old. I like MMA a lot, but boxing is superior. Problem with boxing is that it is so full of B.S. Heavy Weight is also dead.

Wow, imagine if a white fighter said "blacks go box because they're not smart enough for MMA"

It would be a travesty, Al Sharpton marching in front of Madison Square Garden, the fighter being blackballed from the game.
