Another Messed Up Republican Story

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/1...ry5446886.shtml

Long story short. South Carolina Republican Assistant Attorney General Roland Corning was fired after being caught on his lunch break in his SUV parked in a cemetery with an 18 year old stripper whom he had paid for sex and a whole mess of sex toys and viagra

Jesus Christ who the f u c k caresmiffed

Let's see,

we have a national debt in excess of $10 TRILLION, and growing.

we are in 2 wars that have no end in sight

we are at or nearing peak oil with no real viable alternative

global warming is very real and starting to bit us in the ass

the dollars collapse is pretty much imminant

unemployment is real high and still growing despite the recession being "over"

people are losing their houses left and right

banks are playing all sorts of unethical games with people's revolving credit

etc etc etc

And people still care who is screwing some hooker, or about the score to some stupid game, or which 20 year old bimbo celebrity is in rehab, no wonder this country is done for

WAKE UP, neither democrats or republicans are your friend, they are both 2 sides of the same coin

Prepare yourself for what's coming, the best you can

And that consists of doing what, exactly?

I hear the same line from conspiracy theorists all the time and the only thing they seem to be doing in telling people to prepare without actually telling them what that means. Do you even know? Or is it simply the case all you really want to do is try and scare people. People with your rhetoric are as big a threat to a country and an economy than any government action. If people actually listened to you, everyone would be paranoid wrecks who spent their entire time being suspicious of their neighbours doing nothing to sustain the economy.

So instead of whining about it then why not actually go become a scientist and dedicate your life to finding an alternative to oil? Or why not start a business and employ some of these people who are being made unemployed and encourage others to do the same?

I'll tell you why you dont. Because you'd rather spend your time posting generic scaremongering lines like "prepare yourself for what's coming the best you can" than actually contributing to a solution for problems.

Accuse me of scaremongering all you want but, there is only so much you can do. The single biggest thing I think would help is convert any savings or other monies you can into gold, silver, or another precious metal. That way when the dollar finally does crash (there's no current alternative among the major world currencies) you will have something tangible. Afterall, China, Japan, and Saudi Arabia aren't buying up the world's gold reserves for nothing.

As for an alternative to oil, there just isn't one currently that works as effectively. People, Americans especially, could change their lifestyle a little to slow oil's decline. I have retrofitted my house in recent years to make it as energy friendly as possible. I drive four cylindar cars and my next one will be a plug in hybrid. I recycle everything I can. Little things can go a long way. Get rid of all the incandescant lights in your house and replace them with compact florescents. Unplug, don't just turn off, your TV, computer, coffee maker, microwave, etc when not in use.

Another thing I do on the economic front is to do my best to stay out of debt and have reserves. There are lots of things people can do, but they aren't, and won't, until it's too late.

None of those things make you special. Most people I know do them. In Europe, incandescant lightbulbs are now illegal to import or manufacture. The cars that Europe and Japan manufacture have always used far less fuel than their American counterparts. There has been a insulation incentive scheme running in the UK for decades to make houses more energy efficient. Kerbside recycling has been part of life for UK households in most parts of the country for some 5 years. People now being charged for not recycling. None of this has made the slightest bit of difference and the UK and Europe are using more oil and gas now than ever.

Your idea of purchasing gold etc is a bit late given that the price of gold is almost as high how as it's ever been. I was lucky enough to buy 50 1 ounce gold krugerands last year for £100 each from someone who was looking to make some money fast. I sold them a few months ago for just shy of £750 each. I could've sold them for scrap value and make 700% on them. I haven't looked recently but I know the price of gold has only dropped slightly.

None of this has absolutely anything to do with a republican getting his weasel greased in the back of his car in the middle of a graveyard though.

A republican with very slightly questionable morals doing something that might just barely be illegal?

Who cares?

I find it to be a great Halloween story.

Your agenda seems to be just to be an ass hole in every thread I open whether its about Sonic Youth or a possible Republican Necrophile. Why don't you, Shaky, and Battlehammer go and start your own thread where all you do is argue for the sake of arguing and launch personal attacks on other forum members.

Oh the hypocrisy of accusing someone of personal attacks in the same post as calling someone an *******. Hardly my fault if all your threads are ****ing shite is it?

Every thread you've opened eh? Have you only opened 2 threads?

I am not trying to be special, and I disagree about gold, (it's late 70s price was about twice what it is now adjusted for inflation). I've been buying it since it was in the $600 an ounce range. I bought more when it was around $840, and just recently bough some more at just under $1000. I may buy more still even if it goes higher. I have also been buying silver. I don't think it's unrealistic to expect gold to go as high as $5000 and silver to top $100 in the next 5-10 years. True, gold did drop dramatically in the 80s but conditions are far different now. The US has a debt level that has no precedent in history and it's not just our government. Our corporations and consumers are buried in debt also. We are far past the point of no return.

As for energy...what you describe for Europe is not common in the worlds largest energy consumer (and waster), the United States. There is a lot of basic stuff Americans aren't doing that they could.

And my original point, why do people even care about some backseat tryst with a hooker when we have so many REAL problems and issues? Talk about about a messed up set of priorities.

Because it's a simple personification of what certain groups percieve to be "the enemy". Attacking failed concepts and policies makes less of an impact than attacking a person who has messed up and is one of "the enemy".

It's easy. Unfortunately it happens in the UK all the time. People being forced to reseign from public office over stupid personal choices that don't really have any implication or bearing on how capable they are of doing their job but are hounded by opposing parties and media to the point where their job becomes untenable because every question they get asked from the press becomes about what they have done in their private lives.

Unfortunately, regardless of what the US and Europe does now. China India and Brazil are about to do exactly the same. There is some attempt to alleviate this going on right now prior to the Copenhagen conference but it'll make little difference because the only argument that China, India, Brazil and other developing economies have to use is "Well you got to develop off the back of damaging industry...What makes you think you have the right to deny us that same growth?"

All 3 of those big countries will take over the US and Europe in terms of energy usage in the next couple of decades.

I'm just sick opening a thread, regardless of subject and having shit blown in my face immediately, typically with a rude and very personal slant or make up their own thread that doesn't exist and then comment on that while the mods just sit around and do nothing, no matter how many times you report someone with the exception of Ush. It's ridiculous.
