R.I.P. Jaime Escalante.

The teacher who helped lower class latino students in East Los Angeles improve their math and learning skills back in the 1980s died today.

He also served as an inspiration for the movie Stand and Deliver:

For a second there I thought it said Joe Escalante and got excited. Instead I find out it's someone who dedicated his life to helping people rather than stealing the works of others and reaping huge profits of their deaths. Shame..l
