Yeah, the ADL has occasionally been a little overzealous and gone after the wrong people while ignoring antisemites, especialliy Christian Zionist antisemites but I don't really see a problem with them going after some grizzled old Jews-hater who thinks lizard people run the world.

The video is really sympathetic towards David, however, in Them!, Ronson talks about the type of language he caught from the people close to Icke with regard to Jews, etc.
I think its fair to say that, as individual people, I can't imagine Icke has a like, hatred towards Jews, his literature, symbolism and lectures don't require to imaginative of an ear to take that way though.
A good point, however, is that a lot of Icke's points, like the way Jewish organizations use the Holocaust to justify their political positions, are also points made by people [re: Jews] like Chomsky.
lol, whatever tldr, but there is a great scene in the book where people from David's camp meet with people from the people in BC trying to ban him, and one of the guys from David's camp actually does a really good job of defending why Icke is not only not anti-semetic, but also has the right to speak. However, another one of Icke's supporters quickly jumps in about aliens and everyone starts to ask him questions about it, and the meeting disolves into what you might expect at that point.
I'm jewish and I completely agree. So many jewish charities and organizations have a zionist bent, if you are part of any synagogue in the country you're going to be inundated w/ propaganda in every letter. All more or less under the guise of holocaust-related material.
I don't disagree, though it is something I have no experience with TBH, outside of its use to justify the Israeli state... which is a moot question in general imho...
but the "victim" mentality is a normal part of group affiliation, I'm sure it is just as much a tactic as it is a way for people to show psychological closeness within the community through the feeling of a shared traumatic experience

I have to leave the place that I'm leaving because of ADLs. I had a medical waiver because of the complicated medical history I have, and how that's still affecting me. I was able to move out of a group home, where, eventually, my roomate, who was not hygenic, got me sick so badly that I had to go to the hospital because my [end renal stage] kidney had started to reject itself. Fortunately, I got to the hospital in time and they were able to reverse the rejection.
So I was living at a friend's house when I got the medical waiver. I moved into an assisted living center, where I have a private apartment with a private bathroom. Then, a year later, I was notified that my waiver was going to be taken away, so I appealed. On Wednesday I found out that the State rejected my appeal. So yay. I have to move out of here [the owner was kind enough to let me stay a month on reduced costs, but then I don't know where I'll be living. No idea. At all.
As you might imagine, the feeling of possible homelessness is incredibly frightening and stressing.
I don't know where I'm going to live. Period.

I really don't see all this freedom of speech first amendment stuff coming into play at all because the video is form Toronto. Toronto is in Canada, not America and like the rest of the civilized world, they are far less tolerant of hate speech than the US and have laws against it. If Kenny Hotz can get in trouble for flying a banner over Toronto with "Jesus Sucks" written on it as part of a comical competition, what chance does a lunatic like Ike have?

EDIT: throwing it out there, if you read people like Ezra Lavant and some articles by Glenn Greenwald, you certainly don't get the impression that there are no free speach issues here. Canada doesn't have an enviable free speach stance, and often our anti-discrimination laws are used as a crudgel, frankly.

I like what the Germans do. It's a healthy middle ground. If you practice hate speech in public there, you probably won't get arrested but the police will probably beat the living shit out of you and no one will feel any sympathy.

why should someones political/racial ideology be grounds to restrict their speach? Also, doesn't this start an ominous "when they came for the fascists, I did nothing, when they came for the racists, I did nothing...." type deal?
I've had more than one friend see police in Germany stomp neonazis in public in leiu of arresting them in public and everybody reacting like it was a normal occurrence. Hate speech incites violence therefore I have no problem with people being arrested for or getting ****ed up for it. The legal definition should be the same as the de facto test for pornography. You know it when you hear it.
