Please help with my report
I am doing a research proposal argument and I may need a survey....no promises that I use it, but I want it anyway
Do you think that video game violence is easier to accept if it is in a science fiction or fantasy environment? ( as opposed to modern cities like NYC or Miami)

Yes- the more you detach violence from reality the easier it becomes to accept.

its not real, people who blame video games and movies for violence are ignorant fools who have no right to have their opinions taken seriously, its just an easy target and an easy solution to a problem that has no real answer besides the fact that the kids who do evil deeds and blame them on games and movies are simply crazy in the first place, and would have found some outlet for their insanity. so in nutshell, no. its acceptable in any form.

Yes much more acceptable, if you seeing it as unreal then it doesn't seem well real and therefore doesn't seem bad, whereas real violence affects real people and things and is much harder to accept. IMHO.

I agree with mah and Backfire... it doesn't matter who or what it is chanelled against, violence will always be violence, however u must be a fu*** moron to say that 'virtual' games influence behavior... it's not games, it's a thing about willpower and losing it... and those that shoot people in schools, well they lost it...

yeah, if movies and games didnt exist, they'd say whatever book they read made them do it.

I agree with my esteemed colleagues. I feel it is easier to see and accept violence in situations that are removed from reality.
