The Great Electoral Swindle
Just an idea to really really mess with the Citizens United crowd, Sex Pistols style.
Many states don't have the same limits on campaign funds in local elections that the feds do, in that in many cases, any leftover cash after an election can be stashed in your personal account. Even at the federal level with a lot of the new laws passed, it's not hard to funnel campaign and Super PAC funds into your own account (why do you think Gingrich ran such a piss poor campaign, cause he wanted to be president or cause he wanted to pay off Calista's jewelry tab?).
So what would happen if a whole bunch of candidates sprang up that just kissed business' ass. Promised to do away with labor laws, unions, RICO, Sherman Act, etc. managed to garner billions in donations from corporations and the 1%. Then what if they all suddenly pulled a Sex Pistols and one by one, close to the election, got into legitimate spats with running mates or had some issue or another and all dropped out of the race, while pocketing the money?
