Return of the Suggestions
Recently there has been a lot of discussion on the implemention of a series of new threads in particular a TV forum and a graphical art forum amongst others, although there has been alot of backing to these suggested ideas there has also been some oppostion and one of the reasons suggested is that KMC already has enough forums and to some extent i can agree with this, too many forums will cause the main KMC forum page to become cluttered and difficult to navigate around particuarly for KMC's authority figures (i.e. admin, mods and forum leaders) however to be fair the implemention of a couple more specialist threads may take the strain of the general discussion areas which seem to attract the most traffic. So i thought to keep everyone happy why don't you do a sort of review year, half yearly something along those lines reviewing what threads are doing well in regards to audience figures and which aren't some of the franchise forums may die down once all the hype is down, only the Star Wars franchise has proved it has a large lasting fan base, but what about the Matrix, Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings ? at this moment in time we are in Matrix fever and soon we will be inundated with the final installement of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and not to long down the line we will see the next chapter in the Harry Potter series but after that? when all the hype has died down will the intrest in these franchises that we are seeing now, still be there ?, im not saying i don't like these franchise on the contary im a big fan of the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films but im looking at a long term scale here, hey im not saying it will happen but im just suggesting a possible scenario, ok so with this in mind you could archive any low audience attracting threads, like Raz and the mods have done with various forums that have not done majorly well with KMC audiences, then we could replace them with one of the suggested threads, but i suggest before any forum thread is to be created you hold a poll, discussion with KMC members asking if a thread to do with 'such and such' is needed this will hopefully give you (as site hosts) some sort of indication as to whether or not a thread of this type will be a success or a failiure, hold the conversation in the general community area where is is most likely to get most replys, its ok for one person to suggest and carry an idea but it takes more people to herald it a success. This is just a suggestion.
Thanks for your time

Very good idea! like you said, after Return of the King and the Matrix: Revolutions wrap up, I doubt there will be much traffic in them...Wait a few weeks, maybe a month, and archiving them might be a good idea...

well..you do realise that A LOT of the new sections suggestions are made up as a first thought after getting up or as a 'what to say to get noticed' sort of thing. Few of them have REAL potential of actually providing traffic for an extended period of time.
They can very well be closed after they dry out

For new forums we do tend to do a poll first, usually by a suggestion like the TV section. But we also tend to look at current demand via new threads and replies, and sometimes even try to preempt demand. This is done quite regularly.
