I was just wondering where you get permission for a role playing game?
I didn't want to make one, but just in case I wanted to in the future...

Well there are two types of role plays from what I have witnessed on the boards.
Role plays are those that have a background behind them, a video game maybe, a movie etc. They are also one big collection of threads.
They can be located here...........
Role play Forum
To start one, I think you need support and a story, also approval from the mod. 
Unhosted role plays are just like stories without a background I think. They can be a single thread.
