I love history, and im hoping its as good as the books. Even though Alexandre the Great was "gay", he was still a great leader. He had 3 wives and i think 1 child.

Hello, I am new to this forum, and it was actually the above post that made me join.
I love movies, I love history, and I love historical movies. I however am not looking forward to Oliver Stone's "Alexanader". Although I have liked a few of his movies, his historical movies seem a bit self serving. I am most upset that this movie is a "reinterpretation of the story of alexander" which leads me to believe that he will once again he will stray from the facts.
As for the above quote, if you truly loved history h0ck3yh0rr0r, not only would you know realize that Alexander wasn't gay (bisexual maybe), but that the relationship between he and Hephastion was considered very normal at the time. You seem a little homophobic, get over it.
Yes that "kind" of relations was normal in Hellenistic culture but it is proved that he only had wives for political reasons. In presents society we would be homosexual - withou any kind of prejudice for my opinion about him as the great ruler he was.
Woooo..Colling farel and Jolie!! yessssssssssssss!

the First Couple stole fruits from every tree they passed
on their way to the gate, so as to spite their Creator.
And outside the Garden, crouched against the Wall
they gorged upon the Fruits, eating one after the other
until their bodies sickened with the excess of it,
and they puked them up
And the Seeds of Fruits were spilled in the dirt,
And from them came Monsters of the World,
Who were borin in filth,
And never knew there was such a thing as Love
You know what would be interesting, who will bring more money to the box office, Alexander or Troy....

I think troy is gonna be the better movie. The cast seems more alive and inspired, the visuals look astounding, and the movie was filmed at a reasonable pace with the end product paramount. Not to mention that Pitt is gonna bring alot of his fan's to this movie.
I have never been a huge fan of Stone, I like one or two of his movies, but often he goes way over the top. I also know that the script, preproduction, shooting schedule, and postproduction of this movie was all rushed in order that he beat Baz Lurhmann's movie (also about Alexander the Great) to the screen. I really think that is gonna show in the end product.
I am really excited to see Baz Lurhmann's movie, I 'll see Stone's more outta curiousity and hope that I am impressed. I'll definately see Troy, and I can't waite till Hannibal hits the screen.

Sorry to disappoint you but there are 2 Alexander movies coming out.
There's Alexander with Collin Ferrell and Alexander The Great with DiCaprio.
Since this thread was about the one with Collin yet it has the title of the one with DiCaprio (and there's already a thread for the one with Collin)
