Bruce Willis and Jim Carey, in the voters eyes, made the transition from action hero/comedy actor to great actor of all time by their performances in Sixth Sense/Unbreakable and The Truman Show/Man on the Moon.
I think Spacey should be that high, myself. I am unhappy to see no James Earl Jones.
And No Lawrence Olivier, despite the many classic names there. In fact, the only Knight to be awarded a place here is Alec Guiness. Wonder what made people notice him, hmm?

You'd sure think so, but the Oscars have been dumbasses lately. It seems like they do a good job every other year. And this next year will is to be a good year.
Yeah, this year should be good, but there haven't been any Oscar contending movies so far, except AI. I think Man's Ali which opens Christmas will be another.
Michael Mann is a damn good director. "Ali" should be a damn good flick. I hope the Oscars don't automatically give Best Actor to Smith, just because he's black, and the best actor hasn't been given to a black person for a while!
I'm looking foreward to Hank's performance in "Road To Perdition", which is 'American Beauty's' Sam Menedez, sophmore direction performace. I'm confident Hank's will give an Oscar worthy performace. He always does!
Because what's he done? Of the top of my head I can only think of AI and Sixth Sense as films he's had a big part in. That's not enough to be on a list of best actors ever.
Plus he's a kid so he gets over praised. I read something the other day about the film "Champ" and it was talking about how Ricky Shroeder was being hyped as the next big actor. Along the lines of a Brando or De Niro. It was only because he was so young. It's the same with Osment.
He isn't even that good in The Sixth Sense. How hard is it to play "scared"? Maybe in the future he'll be on lists like this if he's still making movies but not yet.
