Cinematography/Direction

I have always thought about what makes GOOD cinematography or direction? i can see how it varies on people's tastes but still. I would like to see what other people think.

Knowing the subject you are making the movie about always helps.

You're asking a question like that here??? Here are your answers, then:

5% of the KMC community-- "I prefer the non-linear style of Truffaut, vs. the self-inward motif of Goddard."

The other 95%--"Sin-a-ma-whaaa? What is them? I like MTV lol"
