Hans Zimmer's exit from Collateral

Does anyone know why Hans Zimmer is no longer doing the music for Michael Mann's Collateral?

His name has been in the composer credit for months on IMDB, but the other day when I went there, he has been replaced by James Newton Howard.

The film's poster has Newton Howard's name on it as well.

Was he fired or did he pull out?
Does anyone know if he recorded anything for it?

This has been a growing trend. Change the composer almost at the finish line. It happened on Troy as well.

Though, Michael Mann understands the usuage of music on film better than any director around. So his reasons are proberly correct.

But, I was looking forward to see what Zimmer would've composed, as the two have never worked before.

But why Newton Howard? Not that he isn't a good composer. I wonder why Mann didn't call in Lisa Gerrard and Peiter Bourke (who composed for him on The Insider and Ali)
