After waiting over a year to watch it, I have finally seen this film, and let me tell you, it kicks serious ass.
Based off of the smash hit series of the seventies named "Kamen Rider" that started a thirty year long franchise that is one of the top five biggest superhero franchises ever(behind Spiderman, Ultraman, and Superman).
When Hongo is mysteriously chosen to be the test subject for a new warrior program by Shocker, he must face being a renegade man who is fighting for the love of a girl that hates his guts against a rival man who turns out to have a secret of his own. This is like the equivelent of USA's "Spider-Man", only with more violence and better action. While there are some very confusing moments(why does the jacket sudden appear, and how?), but not too much. The beginning break in was pretty irritating, though.
The best part of the film is Shocker. Loved them. Very different from the one from the 1973 show. In the movie, the scary faces are just masks, but the powers and sadisticness is still there. In the old show, there are three generals, and the Great Leader. In the movie, The only general is Doctor Death, and two new and random lackies of his. No Great Leader. In the show, the first general was General Zol, but they skipped him. In the upcoming sequel, it is hugely rumored that Hell Ambassidor(final general) and Great Leader will make appearences, and there will be a fight between Dr. Death and the Double Riders. Cobra and Snake were two awesome villains. It shows them to be victims of circumstance and two people caught in love. Very well done. Spider was awesome. He was like a more powerful Movie Spiderman, and a great one at that.
The story went by quickly, which normally sucks, but not here. Well excecuted.

Overall, a good movie. While it helps to be a Kamen Rider fan, you really don't need it. Whoever you are, it is fantastic. See it when you can.
