*link removed from quote because of annoying system*

I guess I should have said that movies/series with actors, not animated.

Edit. I also like "Bad guy wins" movies. Can't edit the first post anymore because of another annoying system.

Try

The Dresden Files [supernatural]
Supernatural [obviously... supernatural]
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and/or Angel [though both may seem chic-flic, Joss Whedon is behind them, and he's a script genius.
Firefly & Serenity [Serenity is a movie, Firefly is the series, be sure to watch all of the series because the movie picks up where it left off and carries it to a finish.] [Oh, and outer-space/witty scripting/gritty hero and another Joss Whedon creation]

Have you looked at all of Nolan's stuff? Inception, The Prestige, Momento, The Followers. I'm sure he's done more but all of his movies are five stars, and there is no hand-holding whatsoever as you go on one mind-bending twist to one completely detailed character. All Nolan's characters are thought-out extremely and all his movies make you think thrice before you think you know the story

Legend of the Seeker - parallel universes, magic, quests, sword and sandal attitude, though takes place in what looks like Middle Earth.

Oh, I'm certain you'd like Bogie and Bacall but they're from the forties. Original Film Noir and all that; Hollywood stopped making film noir in the fifties because it was time for everyone to be happy. Your choice. big grin

Being Human [Supernatural, U.S. and U.K. versions - U.K. versions are usually the better ones.

I can't recall everything in your list, Indiana Jones is always a good series [but NOT NUMBER FOUR!!] and of course the three ORIGINAL Star Wars. If you haven't already, don't waste your life on the new ones. Sure, it's now, so the visuals can finally come up to par with the acting - but only the acting from the originals. They try, bless them, but the visual effects overdo it... and the costumes and make up overdo it... so yeah.

Anything with Harrison Ford

The Hunt For Red October.
The Game with Michael Douglas.
You mentioned The Sorceror's Apprentice - Have you seen The Prince of Persia? Quest to find relic, etc. VERY sword and sandal.

Just realized Star Wars series is from the seventies...

True Lies
The Last Action Hero... Arnie has some good movies out there.

If you're thinking anything along any of these lines, let me know and I'll do more. big grin
