Gender: Male Location: Balls deep in your cerebral cortex
When i heard about this i was gonna start a "MCU" thread for general news 'cause i don't like starting movie threads when the film isn't even in production yet.
anyhow, I think he's awesome and i don't see how he'd fail to knock this out of the park. However, there are other people i liked more from a visual standpoint.
There were a lot better choices to be Strange. But I suppose there were a lot worse too. Strange shouldn't be so young though, unless they're making it like he's still very young and isn't Sorcerer Supreme yet.
Who do you think? I'd not have minded Viggo Mortensen (a decade too old, but he holds his years well) or Aidan Gillen.
Strange always came off as being [physically looking] in his mid 40's to me, Cumberbatch is 38 now, so figure almost 40-41ish by the time they get to it. 5 years or so off isn't too bad. Greying Cumberbatch's temples will also make him look about just right.
I wasn't aware Blundersnatch was that old. He still looks really really young...and like an otter, but that's beside the point. I suppose graying him up and giving him facial hair would go a long way.
Those two were high on my list, as they have the iconic Strange "look" down.

Gary Oldman also could make for a "Worn Out" type of Strange to show that his job is not easy at all.
And I would have liked Luke Evans for a younger one, but I like to think the he'd make a good Dracula if Marvel did a movie for him.
I read the person they were looking at to play strange before cumberbatch was Joaquin Phoenix, I think Joaquin would have been the better choice it's too bad he couldn't do it.
