Awesome movie. Hard to believe this was made by the same guy who did Cool World.

Never let anyone else define you. Don't be a jerk just to be a jerk, but if you are expressing your true inner feelings and beliefs, or at least trying to express that inner child, and everyone gets pissed off about it, never NEVER apologize for it. Let them think what they want, let them define you in their narrow little minds while they suppress every last piece of them just to keep a friend that never liked them for themselves in the first place.
Ralph Bakshi can do cool, edgy animated stuff. He was virtually the only one in his prime doing it. But his version of The Lord Of the Rings was a cheap looking hack job, and I was pissed when it suddenly ended (I found out later he ran out of money in the budget.)

And just learned, word has it, Cool World was butchered by executive meddling (As in, they rewrote everything behind his back.)
His original concept was for a toon and human to create a half breed, who exists in both worlds and can't fit in either, and so wants to kill his father for sleeping with his mother.
Sounded much better then what we got.
