What are some fighters or martial artist characters in movies hag you feel get a bad rap? Characters like John Wick, Punisher, Hawkeye, and others who have mixed showings but generally do fine in their matches? What are other fighters in film that you see get lowballed frequently?

For a regular guy, he managed to survive his initial foray into heroics, and yeah he was pretty scrubby, realisticaly so, but he stepped up at the end, and even managed to hold his own against Kato by fighting dirty as **** halfway through the movie.
Batroc. He done better against Cap than any normal person has a right to. Same with that black dude in Aquaman who held his own against someone who just threw a nuclear submarine up in the air.

Hawkeye is a good pick because he actually outsmarted and stalemated (albeit, briefly) Vision and T'Challa in Civil War.
Baleman is a victim of sub-par fight choreography from TDK onward. He was a 200+ pound ninja wrecking ball in Batman Begins, then Nolan and crew decided to start having goons with guns start fighting melee with him in well-lit areas. I still think TDK and even Rises (which has a scene or two in the dark) are better than Begins, but BB's filming and editing showed how Bats could strike from the shadows better than any movie before or after it.
On the other end of the live-action Batman spectrum, I've seen a few instances of the strength, power, durability, and skill of Keaton's Batman get overlooked. He was a legit 80's/90's action hero, which I love because he absolutely stomps everyone he comes up against minus the belltower sub-boss Joker goon and the circus strongman, in which case he uses his brain and gymnastics prowess to take down the Joker goon and nigh-superhuman speed and dexterity to take down the circus strongman.
Yes sir! Great pick. Fought some close to if not legit superhuman characters and found a way to stalemate them if not beat them.
Oh yeah, I know. I'm referencing a comicvine thread that pitted Baleman vs Keatonman, and someone brought up the Belltower Goon as a knock against Keaton. The same counterpoint was brought up, Pr, so I'm in full agreement that he was greatly compromised physically. Keaton then went on to pwn Joker and catch Vickie Vale while hanging on to the belltower ledge, which is even more of a statement on his capabilities.
I really don't understand the dog scenes in TDK. I mean, I do from a narrative perspective (Batman has trouble against the Russian mobster's dogs during the Scarecrow takedown, then Ledger's Joker gets them in order to have a reasonable advantage on Batman), but surely something else could've worked in-universe through the script.
