Awesome. I've a huge Planet of the Apes fan going back to the original film, the last three films were great imo.
Looking forward to another reboot or continuation. Though prefer a reboot at this point. Owen Teague's a decent actor and looks kinda chimpish as is, so that'll help.
the last reboot was okay, but can't we just have the original story retold? 3 humans stranded in the future, run by apes who hate them. it can still be done without having to repeat that first reboot, that homage-turned-parody hollywood abortion party that all-but screamed at the audience "thanks for your money, stupid gullible assh0le. see you again next time when you fall for this shit again"

I'd be surprised if he didn't stay on at least as a producer. Did they mention who is writing yet? I also suspect he might get involved with writing...
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes actually turned into one of my all time favorite films. It's amazing, and a part of a great Trilogy.
^^^Yeah I really enjoyed it.
Andy Serkis was the glue that held all 3 movies together, and James Franco, Jason Clarke, and Woody Harrelson all put in strong performances movie by movie.
^^^THAT is what I’d like to see.
The last reboot was smart to go in a different direction to differentiate itself from the meh 2001 movie (which on paper looked okay given the actors involved), but I think enough time has passed to do something closer to the 1968 version.
Between the pic in the article and this (not too spoilery) synopsis…
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes starts an all-new chapter in the Apes saga, picking up many years after the conclusion of 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.
…I’m officially looking forward to this a lot more now.
