What is your favorite movie metaphor?
What is your all-time favorite movie metaphor? and why? I'm writing a book about this and am looking for contributions.
For example-- when Commissioner Gordon at the end of Dark Knight explains to his son that Batman will take the blame for the murders even though he didn't do anything and for the first time we hear the words "Dark Knight"-- that was a powerful Christ figure metaphor. One of my all-time favorites. But other metaphors that are deeply meaningful don't have to be so obvious.
What is your metaphor and why?
