Movie Review: Hulk

20 June 2003

Hello,

I have just watched the 1st showing (World Premier) of the Hulk in Fiji. This movie is GREAT!!! The computer generation of the 15 foot Hulk is amazing and the Hulk's strengths are true to the Marvel comics. The Director has done a great job with the movie and it is definately VALUE FOR MONEY!!!

The action scenes are incredible and shows the awesome power of the Hulk when enraged and as he battles Tanks, Jet plans, Crazy Mutant 4 legged friendos and an absorbing man.

Can't wait for HULK 2!!!!!!!!

looking at the trailers for it, the hulk looks completely fake and i have seen better graphics in xbox games!! (just looking at the trailer on tv that is!) regardless i will probably go next week and check it out.

It looks fake because it IS fake. There is no real Hulk, so you'll have to settle for a semi-real looking one. It's better then painting an fugly body builder green and making him run in slow-motion all the time. I loved the movie, my favorite Marvel movie yet. Punisher will kick its ass though.

The Hulk was the worst marvel movie that came out this year. There wasn't enough action in it. We need more action people!!!!

As much as I hate to say, but I am afraid I agree with Ti. The film started out very slow and took too long with character developement before we actually were able to witness the power of the hulk. Even after that, there were scenes focusing on his love interest and the finally the attack on the HULK. I was expecting more action, but I had left with the feeling that the best scenes were previously show in the trailors. Sorry to be so negative, but I was truly disappointed in the film.

my friend saw it and is a huge comic book and marvel movie fan, he was so excited about hulk, and he said it was horrible. he said the beginning was so stupid and artsy and really boring. i plan on staying clear of it.

I watched the movie, and I guess since I don't read the comic book I can not share excitement of those who liked it. I am not much of a marvel fan, although I do read Ultimate X-men, and Most of the spiderman titles. Perhaps if I were a fan of the HULK thenmy opinion of it would be different, but nonetheless, it is definately one movie that will not make my DVD collection, big grin

For me, the movie did start out pretty slow. Although character development is important, they just could've speeded things up a bit.

The way the director edited the film was really annoying. It's cool that some scenes were boxed to have multiple panels on one screen (depicting a comic book feel), but too much of it is really distracting.
Not only are you looking at two different angels of the same scene, but you are also looking at two different timelines of the same scene!!! (i.e When Jeniffer was walking towards her lab door, one panel was showing her looking for the key, while AT THE SAME TIME and in a different angle, the other panel was showing her already opening the lab door!) Very disorienting.

On the positive side though, I loved all the action sequences with the Hulk. They also showed Hulks compassion. Very nice.

this movie was disappointing to me i suppose....all the comic movies are ruining my childhood memories of comics and replacing them with PG13 CG characters who'll i'll grow to hate....i did like X-men, but they could never live up to the comic books....the casting is excellent with X-men, which is why the movie is good...need to bring beast in, he had a cameo in X2.....also archangel would be cool......

I didn't like the movie that much, but it had to be the way it was to set up the next movies. I would see for that. The action is great when they finally get to it. Good love story to considering how much they had to explain in this movie. Overall i would say go see it in the theatre even just to prepare for Hulk 2.

Bored me to death...

I saw it at the drive in the other day... and my friend fell asleep it was so boring! i kept myelf awake doing a mystery science theater on it! I coudlnt' wait for it to end! and i heard the end was the best part? well only cause something HAPPENED! and it wasn't all that great.

Horrible... feel like i wasted a good chunk of my time watching that thing. I was expecting a whole lot better

I thought the ending really let the film down. They could have lengthened the fight between the Hulk and his dad at the lake but they cut it short with that bomb thing. disappointing...
overall not a bad movie, better than daredevil but not as good as X2 or spider-man
