Review: "Down with Love"
OK apparently it hasen't come out yet (UK I know; US uncertain) watched it on a plane earlier in the summer. Here's is an edited review with my opinion - it didn't do it for me. (my opinions are in the [])
It's 1962 in New York City and it's a kooky romantic comedy [someone wrote this crappy excuse for a script whilst drunk, possibly stoned and is a postman]. Two opposites but they are so much alike and end up getting merried in high style [ooooohhhh high style ? -with lycra socks]. The journalist, Ewan McGregor [with 2 Very Dodgey American Accents] , falls for columnist author, Renee Zellweger. The highlight of the film [apparently] is Tony Randall, who at 82, steals the show. The title song is great as well as other oldies are; the costumes are super elegant; the comedy is screwy[absolutley BS]; and direction by Peyton Reed is punch and fast [he should get another job]. Some of the fake NYC scenery made me laugh (with a falling moon)[It was cardboard you freak person who wrote this]. Ewan McGregor, I noted, has two beautiful different blue eyes, one darker than the other[Jesus are you stalking him]. The credits at the end will remind you of the 30s with stunning singing and dancing [not really no]. Zellweger has got it! [as in NOT got it]
I give this great film a 7/10!
[This is as lame as in flight entertainment gets - not even worth a rating]
Very poor from Ewan McGregor ~ I'd never have thought he'd stoop as though as this, oh well at least the sequel to Trainspotting - "Porno" is gona be out soon
