hey did anyone notice this in FOTR.......and i cant remember from the book
but it looks like Gandalf went to minas tirith to read about the history of the ring??
when he first comes to a hillside u can see the white city in the back ground
and someone confirm whether or not it was osgiliath ( a very brief glimpse) in the very next shot where he was looking at mordor

Yes thats right he went to Minas Tirith... in the book too.
He re-read Isildurs texts about the Ring (in the book you can see the whole text) and finally notices that the Ring Frodo has is really the One.

I love this scene 
Especially in that library with all these books and papers... amazin.
Its also told that Gandalf often went to the library with Faramir cuz he loves books

I remember that.
My fave scene is where Legolas is staring back at the Balrog with a helpless look on his face. Poor Legolas.
