Army of the Dead
Do you think the Army of the Dead could of been useful for the final battle in Mordor. Aragorn could of released them after the war is over.
You couldn't even kill them because they are already dead.

[Aragorn, Legolas, Gandalf, and Gimli ride up]
Merry: Welcome, my lords, to Isengard.
Gimli: A merry hunt you've led us on. And now we find you here feasting and... smoking.
Pippin: We are sitting on a field of victory enjoying a few well-earned comforts. The salted pork is particularly good.
Gimli: Salted pork?
Gandalf: [rolls eyes and sighs] Hobbits.

True, but that would have been too easy. The Army could of done, but would have hated Aragorn and that's not what Aragorn wanted. He wanted to be nice.

The reason was because he only set the deal to them to drive off Mordor's forces because they were in dire need, though if Aragorn took back on his word then the Army of the Death would just go rampage and murder everyone....

But wasn't it also the fact that after the Amy had defeated the forces at Gondor, and Aragorn released them fulfilling his word to them, that he had the idea of attacking Mordor to give Frodo the time he needed ?
So he did not know that he would have / could have used the Army at that point in which he did release them.

Yeah, I think he did have the idea to use them later to give Frodo the time he needed, but I have to agree with Kit, that if he had gone back on his word to drive off Mordor's forces at Gondor then something really really bad would've happened...more than likely the curse would not have been lifted for the army of the dead...
then they would roam the world in utter pain and agony full of hate for Aragorn and all his heir for all time...A promise was made for that one time, there were no amendments or..well just in case type of thing...
plus it was contingent on that promise of release once they defeat Mordor's forces at Gondor that the undead king was willing to agree to help.

ach this question has been asked too much times....even by me
No one knew what was going to happen with Frodo really, some thought he was dead man! The Army of the Dead did their job and got their "pay" as to say, if aragorn asked them to go to the black gate they may of done it but would have been pissed off for being asked to do more than they were expected.
Discos - as AD said, whats the fun in that.....far too easy
