I wished Haldir did something in the 4th age, that way, if PJ killed him, there would be a riot. IMO, Haldir had to die. If he didn't, he would have gone with Theoden and co. He couldn't have left, that would have been weird and mutanous. So, he had to die. Of course, I rather not had the elves there.

I hated his death scene but i liked the way it was done....why does everyone hate Haldir he's one of my fav elves in the books  , and i was proper pissed off when he died.... i actaully screamed "WHAT THE F**K?" in the cinema  everyone looked at me like i was crazy, i wonder why?

lol I actually didn't recognize who he was until after the film but I was sad just because he was an elf, and also when Theoden says "hail the victorious dead" I A-L-W-A-Y-S think of Haldir.

well,
I felt sad because he neednt have been there, he chose to be there, to help man, and he died there.
I felt sad because the last images he saw were of his kindred dying, and his people dead infront of him.
But im happy he died there too. If he had lived, he would have had to go to valinor and leave middle earth, knowing he wasnt going to get to enjoy what his friends and companions had died for, If he had lived and stayed, he would have to watch the world fade, have to live with the feeling the earth has been scarred.
He died at helms deep in the films, and i think that was the best fate for him.
