In the early 90's the world was first given the first even reality show, "The Real World" somewhere along the line every tv station thought it would be a good idea to make a show out of nothing, these days reality shows can be about a plumber! almost every tv station has its reality tv, i think even Nick has one, there are shows about milkin cows, washed up movies stars, music stars, stupid sluts chasing some guy who they think is loaded, is it just me or is this enough, this is ruining television. what do you think about reality tv?
For those that live in the UK, we usually get subjected to "Big Brother" every summer.
Man, it creates "celebrities" out of annoying nobodies who don't deserve it. They turn into presenters mainly - doing an awful job.
Not only that - but WHY THE BLUE F*** IS JADE GOODY STILL ON THE COVER OF MAGAZINES?????
An advert today for a (womens) gossip magazine was going on about how Miss Piggy has lost her boyfriend or whatever. WHO THE F*** CARES? She was on the front cover. How long has it been since she was in Big Brother - is it two years already?
JADE, GO AWAY YOU DIRTY FELTCH!

i hate that sh!t... except for the real world 'cause they have hotties, and fear factor makes celebrities and has-beens do some seriously crazy stunts and eat some seriouly f*cked up sh!t. but other than that...
I've always hated reality TV. I cant stand it.
I've always thought that the whole point of TV was to escape from reality. If you want to experience reality, then switch thw TV off, and get your lazy @$$ outside!!!!
Watching reality TV makes your own life less real, and its soooo boring. It sucks scrotuums, and I HATE IT !!!!!!!
So glad you started this thread. My question is, how come the networks were so slow in figuring out that reality tv would do well? are they idiots. Don't misundersand me, I'm not a supporter of reality tv. In fact, I really can't stand it. But com'on, those networks had to have realized the success of the Real World and should have done something sooner(...so glad they didn't). I guess the next big one was Survivor. After its success with a couple of seasons, everyone jumped on board.
I trying to learn the ropes of Comedy Central and the Sci-fi channel recently. There are some pretty cool shows on there these days and they are a nice break from the saturation of reality tv.
well it took them 10 years after real world started to start putting a show on every channel, i guess we should have charished those 10 years more. when realtiy tv was rare
Whats really making me angry is that the news (FOX) shows the updates. Today there was a 15 minute segment on American Idol during an hour news show. 15 F*CKING MINUTES! People who care about the show, watch the show. We don't need updates on the news for everybody else. If they didn't watch it, they really didn't care, because its not important news.

Anyway Reality TV, everyone hates them but they still watch them.
I like survivor UK version.
BB4 last year that guy playin with himself in the toilet, what an idiot.
BB5 starts next friday. i hate it so much, but i bet i still watch it.
All these from hell TV shows i really do dislike them, and will never watch them ever, ever, ever.
Would you class Return to River Cottage as Reality TV show, because i love it. Has anyone ever had a Lardy cake what they like.
Reality tv is never ending. It's kind of unbelievable actually. Evertime you turn on the tv, there it is. It's like you're trapped. Besides the news reports on what happened on a reality tv show, they're now doing specials that talk about the characters from reality tv and the history behind certain shows. It's sick.
Even some of my favorite networks have joined in. I like Sci-Fi quite a bit and even they've got a reality show on now. I think it just got done. Thankfully Sci-Fi's got some pretty decent stuff coming on this summer that doesn't involve any "reality". Stargate Atlantis and 5 Days to Midnight are, fortunately for the world, not reality....
yes i think youre right, it will never end, unless some sort of miracle would occur and they would be swept from the face of the earth.... boy that would be great
