Does physical appearance matter when it comes to love? Does the heart see beyond what the eye can't? Discover true love in this Friday’s Maalaala Mo Kaya episode starring multi-awarded actress Jacklyn Jose as the woman called ‘Babaeng Ubas.’ Written by Ruel Montañez and directed by Jeffrey Jeturian, the episode also stars Nonie Buencamino, Nanding Josef, Mico Aytona and Jill Yulo.

When her mother died, Baby assumed the role of the matriarch of the house, caring for her younger siblings and father. She was content with living the simple life until she became afflicted with a rare disease called neurofibromatosis. Because their family was not well-off to have the malady treated, Baby had to endure the taunting and extreme prejudice people had of her looks. Baby lost her self-confidence and trust in other people.

And so she never expected that someone would fall in love with her. Leon came into her life, loved her, and made her realize her worth as a person, as a woman, and as mother. No matter what others said to Leon, he only saw Baby’s pure heart which he believed is the most important. But would he be able to make Baby learn that she has worth despite her physical affliction?

A story of love, hope and a painful journey to win even their children’s acceptance. A never ending struggle against social discrimination and prejudice, don’t miss Baby’s life story on Maalaala Mo Kaya, this Friday, November 3, right after Maging Sino Ka Man.
