I figured the new season deserved its own thread. The season began yesterday.
What I've learned so far is: it is a bad idea to try to shoot at the Son of Satan.

How in Chuck's name did the kid not die from being stabbed by an angel blade. Not Jack because everyone knew he wouldn't die. Because angel blade can somehow kill a archangel but stops being able to kill Crowley or any big bad in last few seasons.

Well, at least the Angels in this episode remembered that they have super strength and other powers. Was nice to see the brothers actually having to get clever and inventive, and not miraculously being capable of punching it out with celestial beings (which has happened on the show before).

Yea, being able to tank hits from Sam was good.. Finally got something right. Only to forget other things. Dean's being sad over his dead lover though..

Lol wtf happened to the angels? Used to be powerful and now they apparently have trouble fighting off Sam and Dean.
Remember when punching an angel used to be like punching a piece of metal, to where Dean hurt his hand whenever he tried? Now they can wail on these angels without any real consequence.
Also Jack is capable of ripping open a hole between universes, but bringing Castiel back is beyond him?

Why'd they burn Cas? I don't see the point. He wasn't human, he's not going to come back as a spirit.
They didn't remember this though lol. The angel who was cornered by Sam and Dean could have used TK to hurl them away or to take the angel blade away from Sam.

It looked like the one TK'd the one door off, given the way it just kind of crumpled up and flew off outwards without anyone standing behind it, and the second Angel yanked the cell door off its hinges, before the other one used that irritating high pitched sound to incapacitate Jack. And then they kicked the shit out of Sam before getting surprise BFR'd. Maybe the last Angel was a dunce, because the other two were handling things until Sam made with the blood magic.

I have to say though, the writers really did give Angels one massive weakness. Kind of unfair when your opponent knows a spell specifically made to teleport you somewhere else. Especially since they can no longer get around as quickly as they used to, before the fall.

Yeah exactly though lol. They literally use TK in the episode. They use it in a situation it wasn't needed(they could have easily broke the door down) and when they do need it they just kind of stare at you and then try to punch you.
To be fair, this only comes into play a lot because the Winchesters use it a lot, and they only learned it because an angel taught it to them. I'm guessing 99.9% of the people an angel encounters will have no clue about the blood magic banishment. I'm not even sure if it's common knowledge among hunters.
It also relies on knowing when angels are going to show up...or on being able to distract them long enough to do it.

I remember back in S5, they claimed a fight between Michael and Lucifer would level most of the planet. [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Instead, they punch for a bit before Michael makes Lucifer his *****.
