Passing Down the Torch
At the time it is obvious that George Lucas has no intentions of making Epi.VII,VIII,IX. It is also known that Lucas doesn't want another producer to direct his saga. When George dies the money from Star Wars will most likely go to his daugther and adopted kids. Knowing that do you think that they would continue their father's story after his death? It has happened before(Brian Henson taking over The Muppets) and most likely will happen again. I know many of you disaprove of having sequels to the OT but do you think that this is actually possible?

I think that although his kids may want to make more SW movies afterwards, as he has said that he doesn't want to make Episode 7, 8 and 9 I doubt they would make them. It would be more respectful if they just let Star Wars end with him.

I saw an interview with George on PBS and he said when he dies, SW will die with him. Nuff said.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=" ">

Although it is highly unlikely, they could still go agaist his wishes and make them.

There is no Ep 7,8,and 9!! They don't exist. Lucas has no story for them and that's why they will never be made.

Yes, but even if they have this totally wonderful story that they think every SW fan would enjoy I'm sure they'd still be sensible enough not to go through with it unless GL had made it clear that he wanted them to. And by the looks of things GL never will ask someone to make more SW films after his death, so it is unlikely his kids will even consider it.

Hey there is always hope. After he finished the OT Lucas said that was going to be it, no more films in the series and here we are waiting on the second prequel. It's sad to think that this is it, no more after the prequels, but he has changed his mind before so you never know.

That is true Mace. I once saw an article in an old Star Wars magazine where Lucas stated that he had no intentions of making the prequels. You never know.

I think this senarios is kinda stretch. George Lucxas will hopefully have a good few years left in him once he finishes the prequels. A lot more that the 16 years between release of ROTJ and TPM.
I can't see Star Wars still being made in 2040 somehow.

But he always had a story for the prequels. He has no story for Ep7,8,9. EJ how do you know his kids will go into Film? Even if they do, do you think they would make a good Star Wars movie? I don't. Only George Lucas can do that.

I don't KJ. But I'm sure they would make it good.

Oh come on EJ, why on earth are you "sure they would make it good" ??? On what basis?
Just cos their daddy did a half decent job of it? Sheesh!
This ios an irreslvance that has been discussed to death before under a different guise.
Learn to let go of it before 2005 when the LAST film is released. This isn't a James Bond movie, it's a definative tale that will have been completed once all six films are done.
To be honest, this seems to be an attampt you EJ to restart the topic that was previously closed on whether there should be further movies.
Ain't gonna happen, unless Lucas has a major chnage of heart so let it reast a 6 EJ.

I know it is unlikely but we can still dream and wonder what they would be about.

They can't really be about much at all to do with the original films unless he makes them very similar to the EU which wouldn't be good in my opinion.
Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see loads of other Star Wars movies, it would be my dream. I'm just saying that is very unlikely and it would be difficult for GL to keep the storyline in the same flow as the films set before it.

They could be about the re-building of the Republic tand the Jedi Order. The remaining memebers of the Galactic Empire could rebuild the Empire and reck havoc on the universe. Also there could be rebel Jedi who practice the ways of the Sith. Meanwhile Luke and Leia could go to Naboo and Tatioone in search of there parents' past. They could be intersting.

Who will play Luke? And Leia? And Han? I think other actors will not really be very convincing. Lucas would have to do it now IF he could get the same actors again.
Honestly, there is very little chance his kids will do as good as he did. Hey, look at TPM. That's the master himself after not directing anything for 23 years! Look what a half-good movie that turned out to be. His kids won't do better. We'll just have to leave it at six episodes. Plenty of story and film history has already been made with the OT.
Nice try, though, EJ.

RC is right. This topic has been beat to death, returned from the after life and beaten again. I think this topic is a vampire. No, I think its turned into an x-file. Better call in Mulder and Scully.

Well I am a Jedi, like my father before me, and his father before him, and his father before him, and his father before him, and so on.
