K'Kruhk + Youngling

Ok, during the scene in Episode II when the Obi-Wan is asking Yoda and the younglings about Kamino and i'ts not on the map, there is a youngling in the background who looks an awful lot like K'Kruhk. I was wondering if they were the same species.

Exactly, that youngling is like a trandoshan or a barabel.

It is the same species- Whiphid- but the character is named Jempa. K'Kruhk was already a Knight by Episode II, having been a Padawan before Episode I and knighted around the time of Episode I.

The Youngling looks exactly like a Trandoshan. K'Kruhk looks different.

Jempa is listed as a Whiphid everywhere. He does look very Trandoshan, but he's not.

And K'Kruhk is older. I'm sure you can find some similarities.

I agree...hes a Whipid. Trandoshans don't have the prominant fangs. and they have a more distinct muzzle and head crests.

However, in your defense, Whipids are supposed to be furr covered (at least their body), apparently it come with age.

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Whiphid

"Another famous Whiphid was K'Kruhk, a Jedi Knight during the Clone Wars. Bear Clan member Jempa also belonged to the Whiphid species."
