Kit Fisto is alive
If you look closely Kit dies IN FRONT of the door. Then when they show the door in the background while Mace and Sidious are fighting HE'S GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After 20 some years we forget the ones in the OT or EU makes them into stories when they run out of minor characters and planets from the films.

If he got up, he was wounded, so he couldn't help Mace.
What difference does it make, Vader would have killed him between Ep III and IV anyway.

Yeah, he even got decapitated. But we can't see this very well in the film.

Absolutely. Wait...sorry, I should have posted that in the EU section, then the authors would write three series on it.

Just a movie mistake. Not really a good reason to make this thread.

His death in the ROTS novel was much better. As Sweers already said, Kit was decapitated(with his classic smile) in the novel but I think Lucas said that it would be too graphic yet we saw Jango Fett meet the same fate in AOTC. The only difference being is that Jango was wearing a helmet and Kit didn't.
