Love New TheMatrix.com Items!!

These are the new (and really cool) items added yesterday to www.whatisthematrix.com:
December 19th, 2003----------------------------

Today brings a few new items to the site.

First up, a host of trailers from the archives. When we launched the site back in 1999, technology was not what it is today. So, we have dusted off the trailers from the first film -- nine in all -- and re-encoded them, at far larger sizes. Some might even notice that the trailer entitled MIRAGE is brand new at the site. Click here.

THE MATRIX
Manson
Forget
Mystery
Buckle Up
The Answer
Kung Fu
Superbowl
Mirage
Theatrical Trailer

We have also gone and gotten each and every trailer that was missing from the Reloaded and Revolutions trailer sections, adding over a dozen between the two.

RELOADED
3 Times
Blockbuster
Inevitable
Prophecy (15 seconds)
Ride
White Hot

REVOLUTIONS
Cities
Cities (15 seconds)
Final Chapter
Give 'Em
My World
Opening Weekend
Spectacular

But that is not all.

The philosophy section gets four new essays today...

Tim Mawson - Morpheus and Berkeley on Reality
Sean Greenberg - Matrix and Monadology: Leibnizian Themes and The Matrix
Richard Hanley - Simulacra and Simulation: Baudrillard and The Matrix
Andy Clark - The Twisted Matrix: Dream, Simulation or Hybrid?

More?

Hmm...

How about the online debut of the comic story ARTISTIC FREEDOM, written by Ryder Windham, illustrated by Kilian Plunkett, and colored by Jeromy Cox. A brush with a child potential shows that some nightmares are best left unsculpted.

While we're talking comics, how about we unveil online some illustrations to the vintage Neil Gaiman prose story, Goliath, by not one but two artists: Bill Sienkiewicz and Greg Ruth. You've seen these artists on Matrix stories of their own, now see what they produce working in tandem towards a story both have said, "Hey, that's a great story!" We couldn't agree more. See the art and story, here.

We might add, the analog comic remains available. To order the print edition online, in all its thumb turning glory, click here. Or visit your local comic or book shop.

May the holidays bring to each and every person the peace they seek, and of course, keep the mind free.

To the best in 2004...

i think from the mirage trailer we can gather that that shot of neo through archies monitors was never really intended like that....
that trailer just over used that effect! not put on site til now for obvious speculative reasons!
