Ghost in the shell-->Matrix
i thought i should watch 'GitS' as its a major influence on the matrix and i really enjoyed it.
lots of cool things to notice;
the plot and concepts.
the horizontal green code in the credits.
a similar start to the film (female being chased by police, perceived by audience as baddy, cool/unexpected escape).
the watermelons that the Wbros reference in the matrix.

nice but i wouldnt say its a conspiracy
GitS was a big influence and they acknowledge this (watermelons)
as you say;
"I am convinced that Wachowski Bros.were trying to pay homage to Ghost in the Shell"

Not only GITS, but also Ninja scroll and of that sort...but GITS is the main mention

Yeah, I think the action in Ninja Scroll (from what I've seen) was a real influence in the movies, especially Reloaded.
