June 6, 2005 - Batman Begins hits theaters on June 15th and Bryan Singer's Superman only recently went into production. Now that new life has been breathed into both projects, an ultimate showdown between the two comic kings could come together finally one of these days. Talking to David Goyer, Charles Roven and Christian Bale about it this weekend, it sounds like a possibility, but probably not for a while.
"Maybe one day," says Goyer. "I think with this new film, they're not going to do it for a while. The fact that Warners owns DC and those guys are both DC properties, makes it more likely."
It's not happening because Warner Brothers can make more money with seperate films.
It's only happened when two franchises are down & out of sight, and need some serious jumpstarting to get interest ( Jason/Freddy, Alien/Predator.) This almost happened, before they finally got the right people involved for both projects. Supes vs. Bats will not come to pass.
