Comic book movies 1998-present

How do you feel comic books have been portrayed on sceen in the last 10 years?

Because I get weird mixed opinions from people. I think they are phenomaly made and handled lightyears better than what the used to be.

Back in the 80's and 90's it was like, lets just put this guy in the suit, whip out a script, and get the toys out.

....okay hasn't changed that much, but the films have gotten better.

If you consider first that these are kid movies then they are incredible. As movies for science fiction fans, for the most part, they probably leave much to be desired. As movies for comic fans, in general they get the job done. There seems to be a split in quality when it comes to comic movies. They are either insulting piles of garbage to fans, or they can at the very least be appreciated by all. The more disappointing ones are primarily due to a studio's eagerness to produce a fly by night product in order to suckle from some of the popularity. Although, on the flip side, the more well made comic inspired movies are good because a studio decided to put down more money and time on their gamble. It has been shown that when given the proper time and care Comic Books can translate into very entertaining and well made movie's. I think Comic book movie's are also doing much in the way of pushing CGI.

Personally, i can count on one hand how many comic books movies i thoroughly enjoyed and will continue to enjoy. I am, however, very excited to be living in a time where all of the heroes i grew up with are being given their proper chance on the silver screen. When i see a new trailer or hear news about a new upcoming comic movie there is always a sense of disgust "not another one" But, i am able to quell those thoughts and get nearly as excited as i would if were still ten years old playing with my x-men action figures. I dont think comic books movies are going anywhere for a long time and good or bad, im glad to know that.
