Throughout the movie, the actor-turned-director pointed out and confirmed various scenes which hinted at both The Avengers movie (visible S.H.I.E.L.D. logos) and the sequel (he noted that the terrorist cell in the movie is merely one branch of Mandarin's group).
Nice, but nothing we don't already know. Anyone who watched the film would see the SHIELD logos and heard the references to The Ten Rings, which points to the Mandarin.

I remember reading about the Mandarin before the first film came out Favreau was gonna tone him down a little bit because he's a bit racist in the comics.
Howard did a good job. He's about the same age as, if not a but younger than, Downey Jr. Cheadle is a very good actor but he, at least, looks older than, Downey Jr. It'll be weird seeing him in a role I already identify Howard with.

Not sure if I believe the Hollywood Reporter, (1) wasn't it them or Daily Variety that said that Iron Man wasn't going to fly in the film, (2) I believe Downey, Jr, Paltrow and Howard all signed on for three films so I have no idea where the Hollywood Reporter is getting their information
He's Stark's top nemesis. You know it has to happen.
I would like to see how they redefine the Mandarin for modern times, though. He can't be a Chinese stereotype.
