In OOTP what was it that killed sirius Bellatrix's curse or falling through that veil. also i don't really understand what was special about that veil could u please tell me.

The curse Ballatrix used wasn't a leathal one, but since Sirius got pushed behind that veil he is considered as death..coz no one ever came back from there.
but...ermm..on my point of veiw he is still alive but in some other dimention
