just one quick question.... Say for example I want to buy wedding crashers uncorked, it's unrated and rated R in the theaters, how old do I have to be to buy it in stores? Is it 17 just like the the theater or 18? and one more, how about Chappelle's Show, how old for that one?
I laugh whenever Walmart asks me if I'm 17. That's really the only store that even cares. I bought R rated movies at Best Buy and the like when I was 14.
I can remember only once being asked for proof of age. It was when I went to buy The Good, The Bad & The Ugly and that was only MA15+. I think I got asked because I bought it at EzyDVD which is obviously a DVD speciality store. I ever get asked for some reason and a lot of my collection is R rated material.
I usually shop at a store called Hasting's looking for used titles. They always have a pop-up come on the computer screen at check out that reads: "This title is restricted to minors (under 18). Check I.D. before selling." I guess certain titles are flagged like that.
same, chinatown is awsome. and i was asked for ID when i bought 8mm at Sanity, i said i left it at home, they believed me or didn't care that much
