 Smallville's Driving School

Is anyone else really sick of the recurring plot device of someone (usually Lana) having a car crash. Does anyone in smallville know how to drive.
As I'm watching an episode and I see someone driving I know for a fact that the car will be crashing. Although the Smallvillians do seem resistant to Car Crash related injuries.
