Sequel to Superman Returns?

If they make a second one (which they probabaly will) what villain would you like to see Superman face?

Personally I think for a second movie they should introduce Brainiac, being it's one of Supermans greatest enemies, always comes back for more, and he ties in with Krypton. I think he would be the perfect villian for a number 2.

What i really want to see though is Darkseid and i hope they put him in a 3rd or 4th movie and do the character right. His invasion of earth could be one of the greatest superhero movie moments of all time.

This is a different movie from the previous four. I have said it before. Why not doing the same thing for the sequel? They mentioned that first interview (part 1) and the moment they were together (part 2) but this is a story on its own. This is kind of what happened to the Halloween movies. There is time to prevent that mistake.

Personally, I'd like to see this:

#2: Main villain is Brainiac, who teams up with Luthor. While Brainiac is setting his plan into motion, his technology is used by Luthor to create both Parasite and Metallo (strictly for action purposes pretty much). Parasite and Metallo are killed off by Clark throughout the film, and then Brainiac's plan is put into action - most likely something revolving around reconstituting the Fortress of Solitude and all that from this film (and perhaps destroying Earth and blah blah blah). Brainiac is "destroyed" and Luthor is locked up.

#3 - Doomsday, mofo. Lol. I don't think I need to say more.

I want to see Doomsday in number 2, with a huge long battle throughout, just as in the comics, and then have them both "die" at the end.

The third movie can be about the Reign of the Supermen.

Just sub Jason for Superboy, and let Hank Henshaw kill him.

Or have Jason be a villian who fights Supes. (I'm thinking that they may actually go that route!)

Brainiac as the next villain would be best, especially if he teams with Luthor.

I was thinking something along the lines of the Kryptonian crystals, the kryptonite, and the organic matter from the dead luthor goons forming brainiac and then he'd use New Krypton as his ship/base of operations. Just throwin out ideas.

The best thing they could possibly do for the sequal (which they already set up for with the meteorite falling to earth in the beginning and the kryptonite island at the end) is just take Kevin Smith's Superman Lives script and cut all the Jon Peters crap and later edits (like "luthiac") out of it).

You're thinking of the animated Brainiac, comic Brainiac has no ties to Krypton. But, Brainiac in the movie could work.

I don't know about Darkseid though. I think they'd have to make that 3 or 4 hours long just to make it work, and to show just how serious a threat Darkseid is.

The key here is to get Jon Peters out of hollywood. The guy is a seventh grade dropout and barbera streisand's former hairdresser who's cost studios billions and tends to shit all over every movie he's involved in because he prefers style over substance and has these retarded ideas at the expense of character and respect.

From wikipedia-

Superman Lives: the Kevin Smith script

Director and comic book enthusiast Kevin Smith was preparing for the release of his film Chasing Amy when he was brought into the offices of Warner Bros. to give input on several projects "up for grabs".[2] Declining other films offered to him, he indicated interest in Superman V: Reborn. He was asked to take a copy of Poirier's script with him and give his thoughts on it. Smith was unhappy with the Poirier script, and later said, "...the thing that bothered me about Greg Poirier’s draft: they were trying to give Superman angst. They had Clark Kent going to a psychiatrist at one point. Superman’s angst is not that he doesn’t want to be Superman. If he has any (angst), it’s that he can’t do it all; he can’t do enough and save everyone." "Batman is about angst; Superman is about hope."[3]

Smith was asked to attend several meetings with Warner Brothers executives concerning his thoughts on the script. Eventually, Lorenzo di Bonaventura decided to offer Smith the job, pending approval of producer Jon Peters. Smith personally presented his 80-page film treatment to the eccentric producer at the latter's home. Peters was intrigued, but he insisted that if Smith was to take the job, he would have to tightly follow parameters that he himself set. Examples of these: Superman could not be seen flying, Superman must have a 'modern' costume, and the third act was to have a fight involving a giant spider.[4] Among Peters' notes to the writer were: Brainiac must fight polar bears in the Arctic; Brainiac should have a furry dog of some sort, "like Chewie" (Peters got the idea from the 1997 release of the Star Wars: Special Edition); Brainiac's sidekick, L-Ron, must be a "gay Artoo type" voiced by Smith's Chasing Amy star, Dwight Ewell; Superman's suit must be something he can piece together, a la Batman; Smith must cut back the length of dialogue on a crucial scene between Clark and Lois at Mount Rushmore.[5]. In spite of the "restrictions" placed on him by Peters, Smith completed a script with which he was satisfied in 1997, titled Superman Lives.[citations needed]

Brainiac and Lex Luthor work together to destroy Superman. Superman and Doomsday also fight and kill each other in this script. Luthor promotes Brainiac to the public as Superman's successor. The Eradicator, a Kryptonian cyborg, resuscitates Superman, and the two take on the villains together.

The Warner Bros. executives were ecstatic about this story.[citation needed] With a script in place, they put the film on the immediate fast-track to production, hoping to begin shooting in Spring of 1997.[citations needed] A tentative July 4, 1998 release date was set, which is not only the most beneficial date of the lucrative summer movie season, but would have simultaneously been the 20th anniversary of Superman: The Movie and the 60th anniversary of Superman's very first appearance in Action Comics #1. [citations needed]

The studio searched for talent, securing pay or play contract deals for Nicolas Cage to play Superman and for Tim Burton to direct.[citations needed] Fans were enthusiastic to learn that Burton would helm, but the casting of Cage drew immediate skepticism.[citations needed] Many took issue with the fact that the actor's physical traits were dissimilar to traditional interpretations of Superman.[citation needed] Furthermore, Cage is known for playing off-beat, eccentric characters.[citation needed] The actor and avid comic book fan insisted that his performance would be accurate and honourable to the character.[citation needed]

With the choice of Tim Burton as director of the movie, Burton removed Smith from the writing role, specifying a preference for writers he was already familiar with.[6]
