 Is superman just a really powerful conduit?

If you know the game infamous which d.c. Owns you know that a conduit is the power to store and use some kind of energy. Like cole macgrath who stores and uses electricity/nuroenergy. With that in mind we know that superman gets his powers from the sun and without it he would be powerless. So is superman a conduit?
