Your own X-Trilogy
The Batman and Spider-Man forums have done it, why not the X-Men?
What heroes you'd have, what villains, and the general plotline for your own three X-Men movies.
Here's mine:
1) X-Men: Professor X (main character), Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Beast
Brotherhood: Magneto, Mystique, Blob, Toad, Rogue
Other Characters: Senator Kelly
X-Men introduced, Professor X vs. Magneto is main conflict. Wolverine appears halfway through or so, kicks some butt. Blob dies and Rogue converts in the final fight. Kelly dies too.
2) Introduce Iceman, Gambit in X-Men. Wolverine main character; tracks down past in Tokyo while X-Men battle resurfaced Brotherhood (Pyro and Sabretooth added to them.) Logan doesn't meet up with the rest of the group until Victor Creed's name is told to him. Wolverine vs. Sabretooth is important fight, Jean Grey, Gambit, Sabretooth and Toad die
3) Sentinels! Cyclops is the main character and Colossus/Nightrawler join the ranks. X-Men realize Brotherhood connections to the sentinel program, fight the new member Juggernaut and eventually get their butts kicked. Then Pheonix appears and kills the entire brotherhood. She then goes to kill the president, who started
the Sentinel program in the first place. X-Men intercept, Iceman is killed before Professor X lays her low. There's a fight over what the Pheonix is and while they argue over what to do with her, Cyclops decides she isn't Jean and kills her. Emotional scenes, conclusion, blah blah blah.

-1st: intro: main xmen+beast/main brotherhood...conflict with magneto
-2nd: Sentinels and phoenix, X2: xmen united +more xmen including gambit, colossus, iceman...all have roles.
-3rd: apocolypse main villain/juggernaut
im not sure completely about the story, this is just a quick summary.

1. Brotherhood starting a war
2. Sentinels and a few mutants as government projects/Brotherhood bands with X-Men to fight them
3. Apocalypse w/ Jean dying at the end and note towards Phoenix
4. Dark Phoenix
5. Mr. Sinister
6. Cable, Bishop, etc.
Characters:
Film 1...Main X-Men:
(All films have Wolverine as the main character so to speak)
Wolverine, Xavier, Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, Rogue, Storm.
Main Brotherhood:
Magneto, Mystique, Pyro, Avalanche, Sabretooth, and eh someone else, idk.
In the second film we'd have Sentinels and Juggernaut - which would be a mutant that was enhanced as a weapon. Also, we would have Omega Red and Deathstrike.
Third film would have obviously Archangel and such.
(I'll return to this later, I have too much to do lol, so this will change maybe tomorrow).

X-Men: Brotherhood starts a war for mutant rights
X2: Government sees this war as a total threat to them and creates Sentinels, as well as kidnapping several mutants and making them undergo Weapon X procedures - Juggernaut, Omega Red, and Deathstrike at the very least. Brotherhood joins the X-Men in the fight.
X3: Apocalypse and his horsemen including Archangel try to take over. Jean dies at the end and there is a nod towards the Phoenix
X4: More X-Men have been recruited, as well as more Brotherhood members. Dark Phoenix emerges and is the primary villain, with some minor villains thrown in there as well.
X5: Mr. Sinister is the main villain, with an anti-mutant treatment being developed, and some members of the mutant race, for instance Rogue, is debating whether or not to take it.
X6: Cable, Bishop, etc. Xavier dies.
Main X-Men in first film: Wolverine, Xavier, Cyclops, Jean, Iceman, Rogue, Storm.
Main Brotherhood in first film: Magneto, Mystique, Pyro, Avalanche, Sabretooth and Blob.
Second film newbies: Sentinels, Juggernaut, Omega Red, Lady Deathstrike, Nightcrawler, Multiple Man, etc.
Third film newbies: Apocalypse, Horsemen (including Archangel), Beast, Gambit, etc.
[ By the end of the series, just about everyone will have been introduced, including non-mutants like Gyrich, Trask and Kelly. ]
