How you became a fan...

For all of those X-men fans out there, what got you into loving X-men?
My story is that I started to watch X-men Evolution a while back, then I found out about the movies, and finally I started to draw and read about them. (I also started to buy the video games). I'm heading on to buy the comics, although I'm more than a decade late to get the originals.
Let everyone hear your story!!

I always knew of the comics. but i was never really an comic book reader. but when i saw the first movie. and it grew on me. The more and more i saw it . the more i could relate to it. Then it kinda had a lot of influence on me. at i did a lot of research. X-men kinda helped me find my self (is that weird?) i did research on evolution (the theory) Darwin and all the stuff. The political issues in it . It all became a part of me. That's how i came to love it.

I started watching the cartoon, which led me to fall in love with Rogue and then i discovered the comics - most of the stuff i have is Rogue based and more recently Sage based too.

I used to play Marvel Super Heroes a lot, always playing Psylocke, of course... then the Animated series were showing in my local tv so I became obsessed with them yes

Began reading the comics when i was five or six... my dad used to bring me to the comic shop in the city every couple of weeks, uncanny x-men was one i regularly picked up, the way it parallelled with attitudes towards minorities really got to me... that and the way that they were all contradictions in their own way, e.g. xaviers mind is so powerful yet his body is so frail...

I was in the 4th grade I think, and I was in Wal-Mart and saw the cover for Uncanny 274. I bought it, rather than a toy. I couldn't help but think that Magneto was the coolest looking character I'd ever seen in comics. And since that day, he's been one of my heroes.
