Wolverine/Last Samurai

Is it just me or does the the story of the Last Samurai resemble Wolverine's backstory a little. The main character fought in the civil war sustained injuries, became a listless bum, got recruited to train the Japaneese where he ends up training as a Samurai, their both short, agressive little men, it's there.

They have little to no resemblance actually. I don't believe we were ever actually told how Wolverine ended up Japan and he certainly wasn't around for the civil war. He certainly didn't go to Japan to train their armies.
