REDO X-men 3 - Killermovies Forum Version

Well, I started this post to see how all of the interesting opinions of the Killermovies Forum members would redo a bad comic book movie. The movie for this post will be X-Men 3....If everyone could participate, I'll gather all the plot points that we all agree on or the popular plot points, and put it together as a story. I'll post a link with the full story we create. Just for fun.

I'll start.

Jean Grey would be more aware of her problem. She would have this great struggle that she needs to deal with, to fight her growing powers or to let them take control of her. Beast is unable to help or discover what is wrong. Unfortunately she can't and she is out of control. She is a great danger to the world. Because of this, mutants are hated even more. So the government steps in, builds sentinels, trains deadly soldiers, and a new villain appears Bastian. Bastian's power and authority has gone to his head, he orders that all Mutants are to be captured left and right. Some are killed. Normal humans are also in danger. Similar to "Days of Future Past" the world is beginning to look bleak. Xavier, the X-men, Magneto, and the Brotherhood have only one choice, unite to stop Bastian and the Mutant hunting, and get Jean under control, by all means. Both Xavier's and Magneto's motives are different. Xavier wants to show that Mutants and Humans can coexist. Magneto wants control of Jean. Beast proves that what is happening is not a mutant problem, it's a world problem. The government orders all military personnel to assist the X-men. Cyclops and the X-men was able to calm Jean down. Bastian disobeys the order, and believes that the president is being controlled by mutants decides to take over. At the climax, Bastian attacks the X-men with a secret weapon. This weapon malfunctions and threatens the entire city. Jean loses it and goes completely wild. She destroys the sentinels. Wolverine kills Bastian. Jean sacrifices herself to save the world by destorying Bastian's weapon. All is safe, the X-men and the world honor her death. Humans and Mutants have a better relationship. Magneto parts ways with Xavier, eluding that this peace won't last. Xavier says, we'll be here to stop anything or anyone who may interfere with it. The End.

Ok if anyone wants to critique, add or comment... all is welcome! Have fun!

Well, I like it but it's not something that should be made into the last of the sequels. It's more like a 2 film.

Sounds like you are just aping the story from X2, with Bastian in place of Stryker, and mech sentinals instead of his human commando sentinals. Including the teaming up of Magneto & his Brotherhood with the X-Men against the common threat.
And you want Jean to be a martyr, instead of allowing herself to get killed to stop her rampage (X-Men 3 was trying to honour the ending of The Dark Phoenix storyline.)

Mine would be like this.

Jean Grey's dead. Cyclops tells Xavier that he will resign as leader, due to the death of his one true love. After an argument between the two, Scott leaves to try to become a 'normal' person. Professor X assigns Storm as the new head of the X-Men team.
Meanwhile, Wolverine believes that Stryker's plans are not over. Something in his gust tells him that his old nemesis is not finished yet. Logan uncovers a lost underground military base, filled with strange robotic creatures. Finding a tutorial video, Wolverine finds out that these 'Sentinels' were made as a last resort to kill all mutants when all of its creators are dead. However, Wolverine find that he is not the only one to discover this place, as Magneto finds to locate and kill the last of the creators. By activating these robots, Magneto plans to have them eliminate the X-Men and, by using the control room, shut them down and destroy the human race with no problems.
So the first half of the movie is a race to get to the final creator(Bolivar Trask), only for him to eventually die. Magneto then awakens the Sentinels, but they murder Mystique and other Brotherhood members. Erik finds that the activation/shutdown system is failing, and the Sentinels rampage all over the world. Now what's left of the Brotherhood must team up with the X-Men and destroy the Sentinels before they all die.
Cyclops returns near the end of the movie to become the leader of the X-Men once more.

Now that's better than the first one - because it's different, and follows seeds planted from the first two films. Only thing is, Jean can't really be dead, because we know at the end of X2 her suicide failed (Xavier senses her), and she has to come back in full Phoenix mode. Maybe that's how all the Sentinels can get destroyed, and she puts herself in a cocoon by the end to prevent hurting anyone else.

LOL! I guess I did. I like X-men 2 the best, and I guess I just thought it should have ended there. However, I disagree with you that X-men 3 was honour the ending of The Dark Phoenix storyline. It was way off!

I love this version of X3 then the current one.

I would have it as cyclops and xavier can hear Jeans voice, the x-men go to investigate. They find nothing but then the water starts to turn like a whirl pool and a bright light appears...phoenix like. Magneto and his 'crew' turn up cause they wanna use her power for their own...Jean turns on the brotherhood AND x-men. They then decide they need to team up to stop Jean. After a long heated battle Cyclops gets Jean to realize she's done wrong. Jean realizes and then kills herself. In the end we see Jeans grave and a shadow appears, it then cuts to a scene where we Apocalypse claiming that the phoenix awoke him and the age of Apocalypse has come...

😄

I would have it so Juggernaut was true to his comic origins, like you could only really beat Juggs by getting in his head, but he and Colossus would have a decent brawl. And ya know, just fix it.

1-I would've scrapped the Phoenix story if Marsden was limited, instead have Prof. reveal Alex's existence and send him to stay with him and clear his mind, thus sparing Scott and leaving B.Singer to stingily hog Marsden...

2-Depict Mags creating Genosha, which well be depicted as a mutant terrorist nation after the cure is announced... (thus he has a place to rally his troops for the fight scene)

3-Maybe flesh out the Prof. & Juggs backstory ---or--- cast Angel a bit older + include backstory w/ X-Men (he returns at the film's opening w/ Beast at Jean's wedding)

4-Beef up Rogue's role---after realizing how close Kitty & Bobby are becoming she decides to get the cure as in the film, at the rally after Pietro attacks the center she meets Gambit, who takes her to the Morlocks

---Make the cure become weaponized mid film---Mutants who can't get to Genosha quick enough flood the Morlocks, there Rogue meets and eventually fights Ms. Marvel & accidentally completely absorbs her powers, she can't take the guilt of murdering her + the two conflicting life forces within her mind, thus explaining her ultimate choice to take the cure

---After learning of the impeding war, she returns to the Morlocks and convinces Gambit to rally a few Morlocks to go and help the X-Men fight against Mags troops for a larger, more epic and realistic battle

I would rather see something closer to X-Tinction Agenda. A movie where though things are improving in the US, Genosha has a concentration camp system and actually starts kidnapping mutant children in the US as traitors and potential terrorists against the human species. Plus, seeing Cameron Hodges RIGHT battles suites on screen would be awesome. (big hulking, monstrous things made from cyclops-resistant crystals with big, off-putting smiley faces on them)

I liked how in X-3 they attempted to make Magneto control Jean.
I would keep that element, but instead of making Alcatrez the final fight stage I would add that through Phoenix's powers,Magneto is able to construct astroid M.
The final battle would take place on astroid M in place of the moon and the fight is not fought between the Shiar and the X-men, but between the X-Men and the brotherhood.
Wolverine attempts to stop Magneto, but Eric decides the feral X-Man has been a pain in his side long enough and starts to unbond his metal skeletal frame from his body. A very violent display of Magneto's power and an ode to another X comic.
The X Men are nearly standing on their last leg during this horrific turn of events and Logans life lays in the hands of Scott bringing Jeans humanity back to her.
Jean struggles, but stops Magneto from going any farther.Logan is presummably saved, but the X-Men are taxed to their limit as is the brotherhood.

Jean is able to regain control of herself, albeit very roughly, and much like in the original comic, the final battle see's her and cyclops the last 2 standing.
The battle ends with Jean using Scotts optic blast (against his own will) to end her life.
