People buy the box sets, see the PT trilogy in gigantic numbers over and over again...because they want to. Because they like what they see; no matter what some people, obsessed with the OT like it was The Ten Commandments, rant about over and over again on internet rooms.

Sorry, can't talk - off to see Revenge Of the Sith again at the theatre! Life is so good...

Well, I saw Phantom Menace 27 times.
Now granted, that was after 16 years in the wilderness; give a man a big glass of water, he's gonna chug. Phantom is good but it is the lesser of the six films. By 2002, I had a dvd player with full 5.1 digital surround sound, so I didn't go as crazy for Clones - 16 times.

That doesn't sound possible, seeing ROTS 127 times in 5 1/2 months. Exaggerating?
My above viewing only counts for times in the theater, not VHS or DVD.
Original trilogy - combined viewing is in the hundreds I'm sure.

yeah im sorry but why'd do you watch these films so much, dont you have like jobs or college or something? only joking.... anyways I totally agree with the guy that questioned the term' movie' when RotS
Why do you think? Because it's Star Wars, the same reason why the PT is just as if not more brilliant!
After watching all the Star Wars movies do you know what I've discovered? That one movie could never exist without the other (not even episode IV).
If you ever have the time, watch the movies chronologically (I know Episode III is not in the movies anymore so you'll have to wait for the DVD), the movies turn into one BIG 12 hour movie, it's really rewarding and you'll realize how much work GL has put into each and every one.
Another thing is that when I asked my Dad (who isn't a big fan of Star Wars) which was his favourite he said that you can't pick one movie out of the whole stack, it's one story, Star Wars is funny that way.
It doesn't fit in the status quoe of 'normal' movies.
err mate thats bollocks...the PT sucks as a whole and all the little 'flashy' bits they added in the PT will turn people off from watching the Originals which can actually be called movies
