Grainy, but what do you expect? The movies weren't shot in HD. Pretty good considering the original quality.

Are these for some new HD release?

I have seen better...way better...

If the link doesn't work copy and paste it.

I have downloaded a sample clip of ANH in 1080 and it looks awesome.

"The HD version is taken from a quality 1080p h264 Sky feed (none of that Cinemax/HBO garbage)"

That is all they say.

Send me a PM if you want to download it in 1080.

Very.

It also depends on the master the HD version was taken from. I think they should detract an HD version from a fresh print off the negative, or even use the negative itself to get the best of the best.

Haven't the 77-83 prints been physically altered or destroyed after making the SE?

I would think they would have backed them up or something, I mean that seems like standard operating procedure for something like that.

If they rework this stuff they revert back to the original negatives, of the best print. There's no such thing as a fresh negative, but there is such a thing as a fresh print off the negative.

Who knows what Lucas will do. He likely digitized the trilogy years ago from the best print.
